The Board

The board of Wimbledon Racquets & Fitness Club Ltd  is responsible for the overall management of the club, with powers as specified by our articles of association and by company law.  There are up to seven directors,  elected by members.  Each year two retire by rotation and may offer themselves up for re-election at the annual general meeting.

The Squash and Badminton Committees

Much of the work of managing the way each sport is run within the club is delegated to the respective committees. The badminton committee is chaired by Raj Debidin and the squash committee by John Sawyer. c.f. the squash and badminton pages on this website.  The terms of reference for these committees can be found here.

The club has drafted a set of policies which cover many aspects of the way in which we operate.  Some, such as the policy on Health and Safety, are legally required; others, such as the car parking policy, are specific to the club.

Annual General Meetings

The club holds AGMs once a year to which all members are invited.  At these meetings accounts for the previous year are presented, elections for directors are held, matters of general interest are discussed and a question and answer session is held with the board and with management.
